Pro real order error in demo?

KasperElsborg

Question

Hi there. I'm curious if anyone else has the same problem as me and perhaps a solution or other information regarding this. In my DEMO account it is not possible the activate Pro Order in PRT. It's very frustrating as I would like to do some live testing of my code in the demo account before actually go with it on the Live account. PRT is enabled under settings in the DEMO account, but has no option to enable Pro Order like in LIVE account.

The Pro Order works perfectly in the PRT LIVE account- so no issue there.

I have raised this issue 3 times with IG helpdesk but at last they send it to IT-Finance, but they never got back, and Its been a week now.

Hi @CharlotteIG - i have the opposite problem PRT enabled on demo account but i get a server error when i try to activate it on my live account - it says try again later but it has been a few days now so i presume it is not a maitanence issue

Thanks in advance

cheers

I suppose you meet the trading volume to get it for free on live account?

Make sure you save the trading systems and custom indicators on disk from PRT demo

Yep all ok on that account. - have been saving systems etc as i noticed that you only get s short period of time with the demo - that is why i am keen to get it on live account :)

I have the same error report:

"The trial period for ProRealTime on your demo account has ended. If you would like to use ProRealTime on your demo account again you will need to activate ProRealTime on your Live account."

In my live Account, ProReal Time is activated.

Why i can't activate it on my Demo? So i can't test strategies yet.

I have the exact same error message and a friend got exactly the same too. Both of us got our Prorealtime "expelled".
The message seems clear, but WOW why nothing told us BEFORE desactivating it ?
Their is month of hard work for both of us. Could you reactivate it to let us take a backup from it at least, please ? Or could you send us the export files of our codes ?

I was quite enjoying it and seeing it totaly deleted infuriate me. I was about to open an real account and i'll need it.

I gladly thank you in advance for your assistance

Hi @Xelebal737,

Thanks for your post. The PRT demo account is only available for a certain amount of time. To have access to the demo account indefinitely you will need to have a live PRT account.
Please reach out to support.fr@ig.com for your query on accessing your demo account again or your files.

All the best - Arvin

    • US Dollar (DXY) Daily Price and Analysis US Q1 GDP may stall the greenback’s advance. A 20-year high nears for the US dollar. The multi-month US dollar rally continues with the greenback printing a fresh high today ahead of the first look at US Q1 GDP at 12.30 GMT. The US dollar basket (DXY) has been boosted by renewed weakness in the Euro and the Japanese Yen, as investors move from lower-yielding to higher-yielding currencies, while safe-haven flows continue to benefit the greenback. The US growth release later in the session is expected to show a sharp slowdown from the robust Q4 figure of 6.9%. The markets are currently pricing in growth of just 1% for the first three months of this year, with the slowdown mainly due to a reduction in inventory accrual over the quarter. This release is unlikely to move the greenback, unless there is a large miss or beat, as the Fed believe that 2022 US growth will be robust enough to let them tighten monetary policy sharply without damaging the economy. The latest US Core PCE data – the Fed’s preferred inflation reading – is released on Friday and this may have more effect on the US dollar than today’s GDP data. For all market moving economic data and events, see the DailyFX Calendar. The ongoing US dollar rally has been aided by weakness across a range of G7 currencies including the Euro, the Japanese Yen, and the British Pound. The Euro continues to battle with lowly growth expectations, exacerbated by energy concerns, the British Pound is mired by weak economic data, while the Japanese Yen is in freefall as the BoJ continues with its ultra-loose monetary policy.   The US dollar continues to press higher and looks set to break above 103.96, the March 2020 high. Above here the US dollar would be back at levels last seen nearly two decades ago. The March resistance will likely hold in the short-term, especially with month-end portfolio rebalancing at the end of the week, but US dollar strength is set to continue in the months ahead.
