NinjaTrader

Recommended Posts

NinjaTrader has become one of the most widely used trading tools in the USA and is very popular here in the UK because of its rich functionality and excellent support community, custom indicators etc. For example I use range bars with cumulative delta and order flow, none of which is available on the IG or ProRealTime platforms, but they are on Ninja and its add-ons. MT4/5 just does not compete.

So my question is whether or not IG intend to link up with the NinjaTrader platform and provide it as a trading platform option? I believe it is the platform of the future. One problem for UK Ninja users is that you need to set up a US trading account to use it. It would be great if you could use Ninja in conjunction with an IG account. It seems IG might be missing a great opportunity if they do not embrace the popularity of NinjaTrader.

Hi , thanks for your message.

Currently we have no plans on adding Ninja Trader functionality, however I have passed this on to our technical support manager as feedback. We periodically collate all feedback, and if there is sufficient client demand then we do of course seriously review such suggestions. However, given a number of things in the IG road map I don't believe that there will be N.T. integration in the short to mid term.

I would recommend having a good look at the MT4 and ProRealTime offering as there are a number of third party plugins. MT4 specifically supports millions of traders globally, and their 'Market' is a centralized location where you can expand the software with additional expert advisors and technical indicators.

Don't forget that both MT4 and PRT have some great mobile applications which can be used to add flexibility in your trading timetable, and opportunity whilst out and about.

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply. I have used both MT4 and PRT, also checked out their plug-ins, neither of which provide what I need.

I think IG are missing an opportunity, as the only way retail traders can develop an edge is through innovation. The Ninja community would be a welcome addition I am sure.

Hi, Any new palns in IG roadmap to support Ninja Trader platform? I would be definitely interested. Only way forward is to use latest technologies. MT4 might lot of user base only because most brokers support it, but is frustrating for us users to use a technology from Y2K era. Ninja Trader has evolved with new technologies, and the products available to use in it are far more superior for automated trading now a days. Pls pass on this message to your technical team to re evaluate.

Thanks

Santy

Guest SWING point query help pls

Dear

Can you please suggest what value of N is to be set in swing high and swing low indicator in NT8 for below criteria

For swing highs you want the middle candle’s high to be higher than the highest point on the other two candles.
With a swing low, the candle should be lower than the lowest point on the other two candles.

    • US Dollar (DXY) Daily Price and Analysis US Q1 GDP may stall the greenback’s advance. A 20-year high nears for the US dollar. The multi-month US dollar rally continues with the greenback printing a fresh high today ahead of the first look at US Q1 GDP at 12.30 GMT. The US dollar basket (DXY) has been boosted by renewed weakness in the Euro and the Japanese Yen, as investors move from lower-yielding to higher-yielding currencies, while safe-haven flows continue to benefit the greenback. The US growth release later in the session is expected to show a sharp slowdown from the robust Q4 figure of 6.9%. The markets are currently pricing in growth of just 1% for the first three months of this year, with the slowdown mainly due to a reduction in inventory accrual over the quarter. This release is unlikely to move the greenback, unless there is a large miss or beat, as the Fed believe that 2022 US growth will be robust enough to let them tighten monetary policy sharply without damaging the economy. The latest US Core PCE data – the Fed’s preferred inflation reading – is released on Friday and this may have more effect on the US dollar than today’s GDP data. For all market moving economic data and events, see the DailyFX Calendar. The ongoing US dollar rally has been aided by weakness across a range of G7 currencies including the Euro, the Japanese Yen, and the British Pound. The Euro continues to battle with lowly growth expectations, exacerbated by energy concerns, the British Pound is mired by weak economic data, while the Japanese Yen is in freefall as the BoJ continues with its ultra-loose monetary policy.   The US dollar continues to press higher and looks set to break above 103.96, the March 2020 high. Above here the US dollar would be back at levels last seen nearly two decades ago. The March resistance will likely hold in the short-term, especially with month-end portfolio rebalancing at the end of the week, but US dollar strength is set to continue in the months ahead.
