Hi @Iso

If you are using Apple iPhone,

  1. Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
  2. Tap Set Up Face ID.

You can find the Touch ID and Face ID feature on the iPhone once you open the app.

At the bottom right hand corner "Account"  then " Settings" at the bottom you will see authentication options.

I am in a slightly different position.

I have installed the IG app on my iphone (IOS 15.2) which has face id defined but cannot use it to log in.

When I go to the Account > Settings menu, I don't see an authentication option.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Hi @Levo,

Could you please confirm that your Face ID is activated on your phone settings ?

On the IG app if you select Account at the bottom right then Settings, then scroll down to Account settings you should be able to see the Touch ID and Face ID options to toggle on.

Feel free to reach out to helpdesk.uk@ig.com with a screenshot for further assistance.

I hope that it helps.

Hi Arvin, thanks for the prompt response.

As I said in my original post, I have it all set up and use it for Iphone system tasks and 2 other apps. All four buttons are green as per your picture too.

I deleted the IG app and download/installed it again just in case. No change.

This is the Settings screen I get688168025_Screenshot2021-12-24at10_50_04.thumb.png.671d2b7e916b94ff8e6d180cbef624cb.png

Hi @Levo,

On your Iphone, go to Settings  then scroll down to your apps and IG Trading.

The option to enable Face ID should be there.

I hope that it helps.

Hi Arvin,

Thanks for following up. Unfortunately something strange is going on here. I don't have the option under that menu either.

I don't have that option either. I am using the latest version of both the app and iOS.

I can use Face ID for other apps. Very odd.

Hi @Levo @andysinclair,

Happy new year!

I will forward your screenshot and feedback to the relevant department to find a solution.

Thank you - Arvin

Hi,

can jump in and confirm that I don’t have the FaceID option at all. Similarly to the others FaceID doesn’t appear in settings for IG trading.

Cheers,

Plamen

Hi @Plamen

Just to confirm did you try the following by adding Face ID authentication in your iPhone trading app by selecting ‘more’ from the menu at the bottom of the app, then ‘settings’, then by sliding the button next to ‘Face ID authentication’ to the right ?

What IOS version are you using? So I can forward your feedback to the relevant department to find a solution.

Same problem here. Never could use face ID then late last year it suddenly was working. Then a few weeks later was gone again and I cant find the option to put it back on at all as per your suggestions. Have the latest IOS.

    • US Dollar (DXY) Daily Price and Analysis US Q1 GDP may stall the greenback’s advance. A 20-year high nears for the US dollar. The multi-month US dollar rally continues with the greenback printing a fresh high today ahead of the first look at US Q1 GDP at 12.30 GMT. The US dollar basket (DXY) has been boosted by renewed weakness in the Euro and the Japanese Yen, as investors move from lower-yielding to higher-yielding currencies, while safe-haven flows continue to benefit the greenback. The US growth release later in the session is expected to show a sharp slowdown from the robust Q4 figure of 6.9%. The markets are currently pricing in growth of just 1% for the first three months of this year, with the slowdown mainly due to a reduction in inventory accrual over the quarter. This release is unlikely to move the greenback, unless there is a large miss or beat, as the Fed believe that 2022 US growth will be robust enough to let them tighten monetary policy sharply without damaging the economy. The latest US Core PCE data – the Fed’s preferred inflation reading – is released on Friday and this may have more effect on the US dollar than today’s GDP data. For all market moving economic data and events, see the DailyFX Calendar. The ongoing US dollar rally has been aided by weakness across a range of G7 currencies including the Euro, the Japanese Yen, and the British Pound. The Euro continues to battle with lowly growth expectations, exacerbated by energy concerns, the British Pound is mired by weak economic data, while the Japanese Yen is in freefall as the BoJ continues with its ultra-loose monetary policy.   The US dollar continues to press higher and looks set to break above 103.96, the March 2020 high. Above here the US dollar would be back at levels last seen nearly two decades ago. The March resistance will likely hold in the short-term, especially with month-end portfolio rebalancing at the end of the week, but US dollar strength is set to continue in the months ahead.
